You can now get a Tesla Model
S with an all-glass roof. If you're worried about how hot your car's interior will get will all
that glassy real estate, remember Tesla claims their tinted glass blocks 98
percent of UV rays and 81 percent of heat, and drivers can always use their
smartphone to turn on the AC before you even get back to the car. It is designed
to give passengers a wide open view of the sky, as well as the feeling of “an
open expansive cabin” inside the Model S.
Solar City might want to make
the most out of the roof on your house, but Tesla wants to remove those barriers
between you and the sun entirely.
So
the car’s interior won’t become a sweltering oven with all that exposure to the
sun.
The glass roof option will cost new Tesla
owners a cool $1,500 over the base model, and does away with the plain sunroof
entirely. If you need a roof rack or satellite radio, however, you'll still
have to go with the $2,000 panoramic option.
This
new roof will run from the A-pillars to the rear hatch, giving the front and
rear riders unimpeded views of the sky. Previously, the Model S had only two
roof options: a solid roof and a panoramic sunroof.
The all-glass
roof even goes beyond the sedan’s existing panoramic sunroof option by
completely removing the center crossbar.
The Tesla Model S and Model X P90D are gone, but there's a new glass rooTESLA CAR BLAST.TESLA CAR ACCIDNET.TESLA AUTO PILOT MODE CAR GOT SMASHED IN AN ACCIDENT.f
