Coca-Cola
has unveiled the ‘selfie bottle’ – which automatically takes photos when it detects a 70-degree tilt, and you can
transfer photos through its USB port.
If the selfie stick wasn’t
enough to satisfy your social media addiction, you can now take self-portraits
using a “selfie bottle” from Coke.
Even better, you can share the
photos of yourself enjoying a Coke on Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat.
The product was developed by Coca-Cola
itself after its Israeli branch spotted a gap in the market for novelty drinks.
The extravagant
selfie camera was devised as part of the Coca-Cola Summer Love campaign –
Israel’s largest outdoor brand event.
Gefen Team, who tested it this summer, told Gizmodo: ‘It really did the trick and made the party goers more present and active during the event knowing they could share their special moments just by drinking.
‘This way, the participants could capture and share their moment without pausing the fun, so drinking Coca-Cola really does make every moment special.’

There’s no mention of a release date yet, so for the moment you’ll
have to wait before you can share you drinking with the world.
This isn’t the first time Coca-Cola
has ventured into building tech accessories. Earlier this year, the beverage
titan showed off an
experiment that aimed to recycle old Coke bottles into legitimate virtual
reality headsets.
With the ‘selfie bottle’, Coca-Cola has come up with yet another way to make you feel good about yourself as you’re sipping your health away. But hey: At least you can leisurely catch it on cam now.
It’s unclear as of yet where
the bottle will be sold and how much it will cost. But perhaps Coke is headed
in the right direction with this gimmick: Soda sales in general have been on the decline, falling by 1.5%
in 2015 and by 1% in 2014, according to the Beverage Marketing Corporation.
Americans are instead turning to bottled water, whose sales are
expected to outpace those of soda next year.
Humanity might not need a selfie bottle, but it at least take photos from good angle.
